Health Minister J. P. Nadda on Wednesday inaugurated a campaign on diabetes. Through this initiative, patients can obtain information and ways to prevent diabetes through a missed call.

On occasion, Nadda also launched guidelines for screening for diabetes, hypertension and common cancer.

“New initiative launched by the Ministry of Health helps patients get the information and ways to prevent diabetes through a missed call 011-22901701. “

“I am sure that the guidelines help program managers in planning and implementation of the projection on a massive scale,” Nadda said.

Nadda made the remarks at the opening of the National Conference on Prevention and Control of major noncommunicable diseases in India.

AYUSH Minister Yesso Shripad Naik was also present at the occasion.

The minister also put in manual gear training for different levels of health workers engaged in non-communicable diseases prevention (NCD) and control, survey of risk factors for NCDs to generate estimates of potential national level.

Among other initiatives to programs to improve health, the ministry also launched the second round of the World Tobacco Survey Adults (GATS) to systematically monitor the consumption of snuff for adults and tracking key indicators control snuff.
