Have you considered the fact that the smartphone is becoming more of a couch potato? Whether we are willing to admit it or not, most of us get to spend an inordinate amount of time on our phones. If you how much time you spend on the phone each day on average wonders, is likely to say somewhere around two to three hours.

However, studies have found that the average college student spends as much as 5 hours watching the screen of your smartphone [1]! The common scene everywhere today is a group of people sitting in the same place, just looking at his small smartphone screens like zombies. These are the signs of smartphone addiction .

A study by researchers at Kent State University in Ohio, USA in 2013 he found that the use of smart phones among college students drastically reduces the amount of time spent doing physical activities and also affected their overall fitness levels [1]. With instant messaging applications like WhatsApp, students also sent about 100 messages a day.

This study, which was published in the International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity in 2013 studied about 300 students before they concluded that “cell phones disrupt physical activity and reduce cardiorespiratory fitness.

If you have spent too long on the phone, it’s time to consciously changed this behavior, especially if you are trying to lose weight. One way to do this is turn off the phone and leave it in the drawer during the weekends when not have to go to work phone calls related. If necessary, inform your family and friends to simply call on your landline.

Apart from so turn off your smartphone at least two hours before bedtime and set aside at least one hour each day to exercise without the constant pings messages, emails and Facebook notifications.
